Cleanup at Bronx River Reservation with GrowTorah

Westchester Parks Foundation will provide all cleaning materials. Participants should come in warm clothing, ready for the elements (including dirt). This event is rain or shine!

GrowTorah will collaborate with the Westchester Parks Foundation to organize a litter cleanup of the Bronx River Reservation. We will work with WPF to manage small groups of volunteers to focus on various sections of the river. Throughout the program, GrowTorah educators will facilitate learning sessions on the importance of protecting our waterways through relevant Torah texts.

As experiential educators, we specialize in the integration of learning through action. We will teach all volunteers about foundational Environmental Torah values, the upcoming holiday of Tu B’Shvat, and how our work like the river cleanup makes a real difference for the local environment.

We are delighted to honor Dr. King’s legacy by building bridges between the Jewish community in Westchester and the broader community through our collaboration with the Westchester Parks Foundation. We will ensure that our Torah teaching is accessible to all learners from all backgrounds, making everyone feel comfortable working together, bonding over shared values and a shared experience.
