Sign up as an individual or team

Saturday November 2, 10am-1pm

Rain or Shine

Register for one of our four check-in sites:

  • Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla

  • Westchester County Center, White Plains

  • County Maintenance Shop, Tuckahoe

  • Malcolm Wilson Park, Yonkers

All volunteers must sign our volunteer waiver or have it signed by a guardian if under 18.
The waiver can be viewed here, but we will also have paper copies on site.

What to know:

  • Parking may be limited, so please consider a green alternative by carpooling, using the train, or walking!

  • Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult

  • Volunteers will check in, get supplies and instruction from our Volunteer Coordinators, and then stroll the pathway collecting litter at your own pace.

  • Volunteers can arrive any time between 10am and 12pm.  All litter will be brought back to check-in by 12:30pm so we can weigh everything and measure the impact we made!

  • All tools, gloves, and supplies will be provided, but please bring your own water bottle.

  • Please do not disturb anything that looks like it could be the belongings of an unhoused person. (Bags of collected bottles/cans, sleeping bags, clothing, tents, bikes)

  • Some parts of the pathway go along the road.  Be mindful of all signage and do not walk onto the roadway.

  • Be aware of bikes and other park users, especially around sharp turns.

  • Volunteers will be collecting litter from the land only.  Please do not enter the river or riverbank under any circumstances.

  • If you would like to help us IN the river, check out our Clean River Project when it returns next spring!

  • Check the forecast and dress for the weather! This event is rain or shine.  In extreme weather cases, check your email before leaving for the event.

Register for your preferred location here:

We manage all our volunteer sign-ups through our partner, Volunteer New York! To register, you’ll need to create an account with them.
During the sign-up process, you may see an option to support their work—this is entirely optional, so feel free to skip that step if you prefer!
