2024 Pitch In For Parks: Muscoot Farm - Katonah
Each April, Westchester Parks Foundation and the Westchester County Parks Department host Pitch In For Parks, the largest County-wide volunteer program surrounding Earth Day. This year it will be held April 18-22. Volunteers at Muscoot Farm will be clearing invasive species to reclaim stone walls and hayfields as well as planting bulbs in flowerbeds. No experience is necessary. Volunteers may attend at any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please sign up below before the project and check in upon arrival.

2024 Pitch In For Parks: Silver Lake Preserve - North White Plains
Each April, Westchester Parks Foundation and the Westchester County Parks Department host Pitch In For Parks, the largest County-wide volunteer program surrounding Earth Day. This year it will be held April 18-22. Volunteers at Silver Lake Preserve will be helping to clean the park for spring; this could include clearing litter and debris, weeding or invasive plant and vine management. No experience is necessary. Volunteers may attend at any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please sign up below before the project and check in upon arrival.

MLK Day Cleanup at Bronx River Reservation with GrowTorah
Join GrowTorah and the Westchester Parks Foundation for a litter cleanup of the Bronx River Pathway in White Plains, NY. This special day is part of the UJA MLKA Day of Service, honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Who: Anyone who wants to help clean up the park!
Westchester Parks Foundation staff will guide participants through the area, cleaning up litter from the pathway. GrowTorah Educators will assist and lead learning sessions about Tu B'Shvat, the upcoming Jewish New Year for Trees.
Westchester Parks Foundation will provide all cleaning materials.
Participants should come in warm clothing, ready for the elements. This event is rain, snow, or shine!
Winter Trail Maintenance at Cranberry Lake Preserve
We will be doing various tasks that could include boardwalk maintenance, debris removal, and branch clipping

Support the one-of-a-kind Camp Morty while celebrating this global day of generosity!
Volunteers will assemble essentials boxes for our Merriwood campers of items donated to us between now and Giving Tuesday. For the list of requested items you can donate and details on where and when to donate click here. Volunteers can contribute by donating (new) items and/or assembling packages of the donated items at this project site.
Camp Morty is Westchester Parks Foundation’s free summer camp for kids receiving temporary assistance through Westchester County’s Department of Social Services. Last year we launched Merriwood, a two-week summer experience for teens that focuses on leadership, career exploration, and personal growth.
This year for Giving Tuesday, we aim to raise $50,000 to restore the infrastructure of Merriwood with the goal of repairing 2 cabins. Giving Tuesday is one of our favorite days of the year, and we hope to celebrate this global day of generosity with you!

ONLY Bicyclists, in-line skaters, scooters, walkers and joggers are allowed; no unauthorized motor vehicles are allowed.
Unauthorized motor vehicles, including electric bikes and scooters, are not permitted.
Walkers, joggers and slower wheeled traffic must use the right lane; faster wheeled traffic must use the left lane.
New York State law requires helmets for children under age 14, including those riding in bike trailers; helmets are strongly recommended for all wheeled participants.
New York State law prohibits children under age 1 from riding on bicycles or in a separate seat.
All headsets are prohibited. This includes but is not limited to music devices and hands-free cell phones.
No skateboarding allowed.
No dogs allowed.
Bicyclists must obey the posted parkway speed limit of 40 m.p.h.
Children riding in strollers must be strapped in at all times.
Children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
