Help One Tree Planted x Westchester Parks Foundation plant trees and restore your local environment as part of our Earth Month efforts!
Join us for a fun day of volunteering to celebrate Earth Month!
Saxon Woods Park in White Plains, New York is experiencing Beech Leaf Disease which is causing defoliation and the death of beech trees within 2-7 years. In response, Westchester Parks Foundation has launched a tree planting initiative to plant more diverse native trees and has already planted 145 trees and shrubs in affected areas. They plan to continue planting with the help of One Tree Planted and engaging volunteers to prepare the planting area, plant the trees, and maintain them periodically.
Meeting Point: Volunteers should enter the park at the main entrance and park in the parking lot. We are asking everyone to meet us at our Westchester Parks Foundation table at the trailhead near the back of that lot, near where the school buses are typically parked.
